Lifestyles are high-priced. Student loans, hire, cell phone bills, groceries it is no wonder we spend our hard-earned paychecks so quick. And then there are those little splurges on Ubers, eating out, and new garments and shoes for paintings. In an attempt to speak about purchases which can be decidedly extra finances–friendly, the best things we have offered for less than $20, and that I got a few exciting responses. Some are apparently random, some are handy (a further–lengthy charging cable in your cell phone), and a few you probably did not realize you wished (a mini humidifier to your table). Here are some things under $20 we use in daily routine.
1. A car mount for your phone
I don’t own a car in New York, but this air-vent phone mount is worth the $8. I keep it in my suitcase so that I have it when I travel and I’m driving a rental car. It works everywhere and holds my phone securely in place while driving.— Reuben Ingber
TechMatte MagGrip Air Vent Magnetic Universal Car Mount Holder, $7.99
2. An instrument tuner
Tuning guitars, bases, ukuleles, mandolins etc. etc. etc. is a pain, but these things clip to the headstock, are chromatic and thus very easy to read and use, are quite accurate, run on long-lasting batteries, and let you play around with tuning on the fly once you know the right pitches. Much less than $20, too! — Matthew DeBord
Snark SN-1 Tuner, $10.97
