Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim actor to lift an Oscar award ever in the history. He was awarded with Oscar for his mentoring role he played in the movie ‘Moonlight’. In the movie he played the role of a mentor of a gay black boy. 

He was praised over the internet and social media. But with this his Oscar winning shot sparked a debate over social media.  Mahershala Ali is an Ahmadi, that Pakistanis don’t consider Muslims, so he was not accepted as the Muslim actor who won Oscar.
