5 Everyday Things You Didn’t Realize You Were Doing Wrong

As adults, our lives are often defined by routine. We get up, take a shower, brush our teeth, have breakfast, and go to work. We perform so many small actions every day that we almost never ask ourselves if there’s a right or wrong way to do them. Most of us never really stop to think, are we even doing the right things? We all think we know how to manage our lives until something comes along and shows us the folly of our ways. Here are 5 things you do every day that you may not have realized you were doing wrong.

1. Using too much soap in the water

As we age, our skin dries out and soap, which is an astringent, only dries it out more. Try to use only as much soap as you need, and only on necessary areas such as skin folds. The soapy water running down your body will be enough to get clean.

2. Drying your hands with paper towels

We use millions of pounds of paper to dry our hands every year. Now, we’re not saying don’t dry off, but shaking off the excess moisture before grabbing a paper towel will at least help you use significantly less of them to get dry.
